Agreement

These terms govern your use of Roast My Resume. By using the site or submitting a resume, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What the service provides

Roast My Resume provides automated feedback on the readable text extracted from a resume, including comments about clarity, evidence, structure, and general ATS readability. Results can include scores and humorous criticism. The review is informational; it is not professional, legal, or employment advice.

The system does not compare your resume with a job description, inspect visual design like a person viewing the rendered page, simulate a particular employer's ATS, or guarantee an interview. The full process and limitations are described on our methodology page.

Uploads and AI processing

You may upload PDF, DOCX, or TXT files up to 10MB. By uploading a file, you confirm that you own it or have permission to submit it, and you authorize us to extract and process its text. Extracted text is sent to Groq for AI inference. Our temporary file is removed after the request finishes, but Groq may retain limited data under its own terms. See our Privacy Policy before uploading.

Remove sensitive information that is unnecessary for the review. Do not submit Social Security numbers, passwords, banking details, medical records, or content you do not have the right to process.

Your responsibilities

You agree not to upload malware or unlawful content; probe, disrupt, scrape, or overload the service; evade rate limits; misrepresent your authority to submit a document; or use the site in a way that violates another person's rights or applicable law. We may limit or block abusive use.

Your content and our site

You retain your rights in your resume. You give us the limited permission needed to process it and return the review. We retain rights in the site, branding, code, original editorial material, and service design. You may use your generated feedback personally, but you may not copy or resell the service itself.

Email

An email address is required to unlock the full result. Marketing emails are optional and require a separate opt-in. Our collection, retention, provider, unsubscribe, and deletion practices are explained in the Privacy Policy.

Accuracy and availability

Automated feedback can be incomplete, inconsistent, biased, or wrong. Check every suggestion before changing your resume, especially facts, dates, qualifications, and industry-specific language. We provide the service on an “as is” and “as available” basis and do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free output, or a particular employment result.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Roast My Resume will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from the service, its availability, or decisions made from its output. Our total liability for a claim related to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us for it, if any. Some jurisdictions do not permit every limitation, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

Changes and termination

We may change, suspend, or discontinue part of the service and may update these terms. The date above identifies the current version. We may suspend access that violates these terms or threatens the service or other users. You can stop using the service at any time.
